Assignment #1
universal design for learning
What is Universal Design for Learning?
Universal Design for Learning is about anticipating and planning for instruction and assignments. It is about knowing your learners and their abilities. It is about creating meaningful instruction opportunities and learning activities that engage all learners and stimulate interest. When paired with assignment flexibility and options for expression, UDL allows all students to receive and express their learning uniquely. The result of which makes deep learning accessible to all learners. UDL is about creating lessons that challenge gifted learners, engage average learners and motivate and accommodate struggling or disabled learners. Only then does learning truly become universal.
It is about engaging all students while also making learning less of a struggle for those with learning disabilities, physical impairments, or any other challenges...whatever they may be. It is also about challenging gifted learners and motivating average learners.
For this assignment I have created a Keynote presentation. Please click below to watch my presentation and learn more about UDL (Universal Design for Learning). The following youtube video is useful as well.
